Amrit has been practicing and loving all different styles of yoga for nearly 2 decades, although kundalini is her favorite. She became certified to teach kundalini yoga in 2010 on the big island in Hawaii, through Kundalini Rising International Yoga Academy (KRIYA) with teachers Guru Rattana and Guru Kirin. Kundalini yoga is also referred to as energy yoga, chakra yoga, or &#8220;yoga of awareness&#8221;, as dubbed by Yogi Bhajan, who brought this yoga from India to America in 1969. These titles are due to kundalini&#8217;s yoga activating nature, triggering our coiled snakes of latent potential energy to rise. It utilizes mantras and breath work (pranayama), including &#8220;breath of fire&#8221;, igniting our internal flames. Appropriate for Dragons! and everyone. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Amrit currently teaches private individual lessons and group kundalini yoga classes in and around the Arcata area. To set up a private lesson or class, please call Fiery Fingers. A private individual lesson is $30 (generally 60-90 minutes), and a group class is $30 minimum, but please visit &#8220;Rates&#8221; page for full details on pricing.
